Job Title: Nurse for IV Injection Company: Merit Finder Job Type: Full Time Workplace Type: On site Base Salary: 70,000 per year Location: Los Angeles, California, United States Job Description: Merit Finder is seeking a qualified and compassionate Nurse for IV Injection to join our on-site healthcare team in Los Angeles, California. In this role, you will provide safe, timely, and patient-centered care for individuals requiring IV injections, while also contributing to patient data review and analysis to support clinical decision-making and improve care outcomes. You will be responsible for administering IV injections according to established protocols, closely monitoring patients for reactions or changes in condition, documenting care accurately, and collaborating with the broader care team to ensure that treatment plans are followed. Equally important, you will use analytical skills and tools to review patient information, identify patterns, and help translate patient-related data into actionable insights. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong nursing fundamentals with comfort using data-focused tools such as Excel and Python. Key Responsibilities: 1. Patient Assessment and Preparation - Review patient intake information and medical history prior to IV injection. - Verify patient identity and confirm orders as directed by supervising clinicians and facility protocols. - Assess patient readiness for IV therapy, including vital signs and relevant symptoms or contraindications. - Ensure proper patient education and consent processes are followed as applicable. 2. IV Injection Administration and Safety - Prepare and administer IV injections using aseptic techniques and in accordance with professional standards and facility policies. - Confirm medication, dose, route, timing, and compatibility based on clinical orders. - Maintain patient safety throughout therapy, including monitoring for adverse reactions, pain, swelling, infection, infiltration, or other complications. - Manage IV site care and ensure supplies, access lines, and equipment are appropriately maintained and documented. 3. Monitoring, Documentation, and Follow-Up - Monitor patients before, during, and after IV injection, recording vital signs, responses to treatment, and any issues promptly. - Document all nursing actions, observations, and interventions accurately in the facility’s systems or required documentation formats. - Report concerns and escalate issues to the appropriate healthcare provider in a timely manner. - Support post-injection follow-up needs, including patient comfort, care instructions, and coordination with the care team. 4. Patient Data Analysis and Reporting - Analyze patient data to support care quality and clinical readiness, including reviewing relevant trends and outcomes connected to IV administration. - Use data analysis tools to summarize patient information, identify patterns, and highlight possible areas of concern. - Create clear reports and dashboards using Excel to support internal stakeholders. - Apply basic programming and data analysis approaches using Python to assist with patient data processing, cleaning, and analysis as needed. - Maintain data privacy and handle patient information in compliance with applicable healthcare regulations and company policies. 5. Collaboration and Team Support - Work closely with physicians, pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team to ensure coordinated patient care. - Communicate effectively with patients and caregivers, responding to questions and providing appropriate reassurance. - Participate in shift handovers, team meetings, and continuous improvement activities. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Licensed Nurse with appropriate credentials to administer IV injections in California (e.g., active nursing license). - Strong patient-focused approach with the ability to assess, monitor, and respond quickly to changes in patient condition. - Demonstrated ability in data analyzing the patients, including reviewing and interpreting patient-related information for clinical and operational improvement. - Proficiency with Excel, including the ability to organize data, perform calculations, and generate reports. - Working knowledge of Python for data analysis tasks, such as basic data processing and analysis workflows. - Ability to document nursing care accurately and consistently. - Strong attention to detail, infection control awareness, and commitment to patient safety. - Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced on-site environment. Preferred Qualifications (If Applicable): - Experience administering IV injections or providing infusion-related nursing care in a clinical setting. - Experience working with healthcare data systems or electronic documentation tools. - Familiarity with quality improvement practices, patient safety initiatives, or outcomes tracking. Work Environment and Schedule: - This is a full-time, on-site position based in Los Angeles, California. - Schedule may include day and/or evening shifts, and occasional weekend or holiday coverage based on operational needs. - You will work in a clinical environment that requires adherence to patient safety, infection control, and privacy standards at all times.
