We are hiring a versatile Software Developer who thrives in a fast-paced, remote Agile environment and who can contribute across the stack while mentoring others and communicating effectively with non-technical stakeholders. Position Overview We are seeking a senior-level Software Developer who is comfortable working across front-end and back-end boundaries and who brings strong fundamentals in designing efficient, scalable software. The ideal candidate will combine exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills with the ability to rapidly adopt new technologies, produce secure, well-tested code, and collaborate closely with product managers, designers, QA, and other engineers in an Agile setting. You will write production-quality code in multiple languages, contribute to architecture and design decisions, and help shape our development processes. Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, test, and maintain high-quality software across both front-end and back-end components. - Work in an iterative Agile development environment: participate in sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming, demos, and retrospectives. - Write secure, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices and secure coding standards. - Troubleshoot and debug complex production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement robust fixes. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, design, QA, DevOps) to translate product requirements into technical solutions. - Explain technical concepts, trade-offs, and design decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and leadership. - Contribute to system architecture and design to ensure scalability, performance, and reliability. - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automated tests (unit, integration), and deployment processes. - Mentor and review code for peers, share knowledge, and contribute to continuous improvement of the engineering culture. - Work with cloud platforms and services (AWS/Azure) to deploy, monitor, and scale applications. - Ensure data integrity and performance when interacting with databases; design efficient data models and queries. - Stay current with new tools, frameworks, and industry trends and evaluate them for applicability to our stack. Required Skills and Qualifications - Strong problem-solving skills and a proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues. - Excellent debugging skills across the full application stack. - Demonstrated adaptability to learn and apply new technologies quickly. - Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present technical topics to non-technical audiences. - Proven experience collaborating within Agile teams and contributing to iterative development processes. - Solid fundamentals in designing efficient, scalable software systems and applying appropriate design patterns. - Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS and/or Azure (deployments, services, monitoring, security). - Strong understanding of databases (design, querying, optimization, transactions); experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases. - Experience producing secure code and applying security best practices throughout the development lifecycle. - Ability to work across front-end and back-end responsibilities in a full-stack capacity. - Comfortable working with cross-functional teams and explaining trade-offs to product and business stakeholders. - Proficiency in multiple programming languages, including: - Python - Java - C++ - C - JavaScript - PHP Preferred Qualifications (nice-to-have) - Experience with front-end frameworks and tooling (for example: React, Vue, Angular) and modern JavaScript ecosystems. - Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). - Experience building and monitoring microservices-based systems. - Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation). - Prior experience in a remote-first engineering organization. - Open-source contributions or public code samples (GitHub, GitLab, portfolio). - Mentoring or leadership experience guiding small engineering teams.
